A product called Macromedia Flash (being used with web sites) became a go to for course development. Macromedia Dreamweaver came out with templates. Output was AICC (boo) and SCORM. However, this product called Storyline was launched. Here is my review of the product , all those years ago. Then it happened.

Well, it is a fun product to create a course. This product achieves makes it happen, especially with a slick UI. Nothing like getting your blood boil when you see this ranking and can’t understand why the product is not number one. Curatr’s product is one of the new hybrid authoring systems to hit the market.

Over the last ten years or so, major elearning developers have preferred to use tools like Flash, Authorware and Director from Adobe (earlier Macromedia). While the assumption would be that all the products are alike, or that fee based tools are superior to their free counterparts, nothing could be farther than the truth. Macromedia Authorware and similar products. Macromedia Director. Eventually, Macromedia Dreamweaver came into the picture. HTML and Javascript.

While I have seen a few that give off the “rapid build” appearance, unless you have experience with solutions in the past like Authorware, MacroMedia Director, or similar brethren, you will face some serious challenges. 2004, AICC, PENS, TinCan) would be equally relevant. Selection Time.
