Other fun tidbits AICC was the leader here, then came SCORM. There were LMS vendors certified by AICC, but the majority were not, and yes, some said they were, then you go to the AICC web site and see that they are not. SumTotal – Today? SumTotal called it SumTotal Maestro. Yet, very popular.

SCORM/AICC. If this is something you are looking for – i.e. a HCM, then they are the ones to go with – over Cornerstone, Oracle-Taleo, SumTotal and alike. SCORM/AICC. SQL Query Report Builder (for those who prefer this method). 90/10 standard feature set. The user interface has come a long way. Accepts APIs.

In 2005, PENS was launched by AICC but did not initially gain wide acceptance. PENS (Package Exchange Notification System) is a wonderful standard that provides a method for authoring tools to directly send course packages (primarily SCORM) to an LMS. Can you provide some insight into PENS?

I recenly worked on a e-learning course developed using the rapid authoring tool, Articulate Storyline and published it to SumTotal LMS. By default, the SumTotal LMS provides navigational elements on top of the screen to every course published to it. Upload the course using SCORM, AICC, or TINCAN API package.
