I did dig up the eLearning Guild Authoring Tools Research Report (January 2008). Different author groups (the tool needs to fit the skill level of the author – too technical?

Secondly, I've been doing some work for a client of mine that has an LMS with some authoring capabilities, trying to compare what they have to offer with what's available elsewhere. Everybody's got an authoring tool. Why on earth not?

RapideL-i

I've been taking a look at an early version of RapideL's new online e-learning authoring tool, which they are calling RapideL-i. In Europe, Atlantic Link and Mohive are currently the online tools of preference and both appear to be reliable and extremely easy to use.

The big question: choosing tools

The Learning Circuits Blog Big Question for July is 'how should e-learning developers choose their authoring tools given the proliferation of tools on the market?' Well, I posted on this subject just last week (see Confused of Brighton ) and even listed my own top ten tools , authoring or otherwise, in a subsequent post.
