Right now I am doing a survey on authoring tools (more on this at the end of the post) and so far 100% of all respondents state that HTML5 output is required in an authoring tool. I do believe that HTML5 output will continue to grow as an authoring tool feature. Audacity which is free – destroys it. Not anymore.

LMSs – Finally vendors took notice. Sadly though many still are in the dark on true mobile learning – i.e. not accessing their platform via a mobile web browser. Authoring Tools – With only a small sample of vendors that are SaaS based, pickings are slim. Authoring Tools. Social Learning.

I wasn’t thunderstruck, but what I was surprised at was the number of folks who had or were about to purchase the well known authoring tools in the market, Articulate, Captive and Lectora. When people think authoring tools, three products typically come to mind. The king of authoring tools. Fatboy Slim – Praise You.

The first time I have had fun creating courses via a course authoring tool in 15 years. Layers and Conditions – if you have experience with Photoshop or similar products that use layers, then your learning curve is less. Nope, never.until now.
