The ability to record audio in real time or post time makes a lot of sense and eliminates the need for using Audacity (albeit it is a wonderful and free product). There are more vendors who do not offer the ability to post – i.e. add audio afterwards it is quite amazing. another vendor who offers both capabilities is sothink ).

The explosion of MOOCs and new tools for education will have three big effects on corporate learning. It’s inevitable that vendors that develop free, fee or accredited programs will look for opportunities there. MOOC platforms and other educational tools will move and be sold in the corporate market.

I use the open source tool Audacity for audio editing. This is more likely at elearning agencies and vendors who create training for other companies. Honestly, PowerPoint is a decent tool for simple image editing. I often use PowerPoint to remove backgrounds or make other quick changes. OpenShot is a free, open source video editor.

The big elephant in the room that we hear so many times and vendors love to pitch (to get you to their system), but rarely the vendors themselves will admit to – many have only themselves to blame. Sometimes, it is the client’s fault and sometimes it is the vendor’s fault. Why, Oh Why do I lose the love?
