I wouldn’t recommend using Text to Speech this way as a habit, at least not for mobile devices, because what it does is embed an actual audio file, rather than converting the text on the fly.

PowerPoint records the audio and the mouse pointer by default. To turn them off, deselect Audio and/or Record Pointer on the Control Dock. You will want to record audio if your course has narration or audio elements. In the Save Media As dialog box, specify a file name and folder location, then click Save.

Once your video is on YouTube you can embed it on your website, so you don’t lose a visitor to your site, but you’re also building up an audience on YouTube as well. In fact, most people can live with a little bit of grainy video as long as the audio sounds good. Being aware of good audio quality will set you up for great success.
