From products that ranged from the latest versions of RCATs to new vendors in the space, including text to speech. . Back in 2000, the knock on rapid content authoring tools were they “pre-template” driven solutions.

You can use either your own 3rd party content authoring tool and upload it into the “Cloud&# and then wherever you are, output either to your LMS, or onto Moodle or even WordPress (they have a plug in for that) OR place the course in Facebook or nearly any solution that accepts APIs. While I am sure that occurred at WOLC, the ones I gazed at, which were presented by vendors, had no sales pitch whatsoever, rather it was all about a specific subject tied to e-learning. I know a few vendors who had multiple meetings each day with potential clients – and the ones I am referring to where LMS vendors.

With all these vendors talking about their solution and its capabilities on mobile devices, it should be easy to find an app for that. Regardless if the vendor is m-learning specific, content authoring tool, LMS, web conferencing or a hybrid. Thus they can advertise they offer mobile learning. Even better.

Standalone Quiz/Assessment Tools. I love Questionmark, its a wonderful product and it can use a “connector” to integrate into your learning platform or system. However, times are continuing to change in regards to the overall standalone quiz/assessment tools market. The same can be said for survey tools.

Why have a virtual classroom that in essence is a web conferencing tool where you “aren’t really there”? Create your own app to use with the product, from a “how to” to “software tutorial” to “interactive real life scenarios”, etc. Why limit your LMS to what it is today?
