This year, I estimated a 55/60% e-learning, including some ILT vendors offering some type of e-learning component. . In all the years I have attended and have known about ATD (formally ASTD), this year is by far the most in terms of e-learning vendors, especially those in the LMS space.

In fact there are systems that cost less than 25K that are excellent. Case in point: IMO one of the worst UI’s I have ever seen comes from Cornerstone OnDemand, which is quite popular. Q: When I take a look at some systems I see that they very well known tech vendors, thus they must be awesome systems. A: Absolutely not.

I include Learning Portals, LCMSs, as part of the mix. Big Dog (Saba, SumTotal, Plateau, Cornerstone OnDemand, Learn.com). Extended Enterprise – System must have e-comm, multi-tenet – fully skinnable, additional functionality. Made specifically for business. Cost/Budget Allocation. These standout to me.
