I think Im somewhat of an anomaly in the field. Maybe Im not an instructional designer at all. I think my dinosaur status as an instructional designer stems from the fact that Ive always worked for e-Learning vendors where the programming, graphics, and ID are distinct, separate job roles. I dont build courses.

How many of you have seen vendors respond to your questions? Q: I’m looking for a LMS that has classroom mgt, can have abc learners see only one course or a set of courses, while another group sees a different set of courses and I need to batch upload my learners. SCORM/AICC/PENS/IMS. A: Depends on the vendor.

Im a linear reader in recovery and have been actively learning how to skim books and not feel guilty about it. Lots of practical ideas and examples for turning basic teaching points into learning games -- from casual games to teach facts and concepts, to detailed simulations that teach procedures and problem solving. Certainly with the rise of rapid e-Learning tools and the increase in SME-published content well start to see an increase in the frequency of updates to e-Learning material. As an e-Learning vendor, I think its our responsibility to make sure that our clients have thought this through.
