Sure in some cases it did poorly, but it wasn’t because the idea wasn’t sound, it was due to the way the learning was presented. In the early 2010’s, I remember talking to Saba, who told me privately they say themselves as a performance management system, while publicly pushing themselves as an LMS.

A coaching system which incorporate training/learning modality, fits here. Docebo, Asentia LMS, Syfadis Experience, Saba, G-Cube, Brainier LMS, Persona Learning Management, SkyPrep, Blackboard (Corp version), . These are vendors who score high in certain verticals. Saba was #2. The Top 50 Learning Systems for 2019.

Thankfully, they scored very high elsewhere, otherwise – “well…” Curation, Playlists, Skills, Job Roles (if applicable) – how can they be intertwined or at least utilized to gain maximum efficiency and usage by each learner. Again, those who do a far better job, scored better here. Not Relevant.

While that all sounds good and likely works for marketing purposes, for me, it just doesn’t fly, because there has to be a set of functionality, etc. Just enough to score well, but trend lines pointing that this may be the best they get, even if they continue to add NexGen, they are still behind the curve to rise. .

Overall, functionality scored high in my template. Functionality strong overall – for my template, they score in the upper tier, but there is a couple of weaknesses. BizAcademy – Their cohort-based learning with “Experts” and “Coaches” launches in Jan. Functionality is solid. Weaknesses.
