I’ll be the first to admit, that I was not a big fan of the previous versions of the Plateau system. After viewing the Plateau TMS, my concerns in one area have been eliminated, in others, not so much. Plateau LMS is a Talent Management System, made up of four modules. Plateau Learning. Plateau Performance.

Some vendors use the words “VLE&# – but in a deeper dive, it is a LMS for them. Many vendors state “LMS&# , even though it comes with a content authoring tool and additional features – this is a trend. Vendors Reviewed. E-Learning 24/7. I was the ghost.

CBT Prior to online learning known then as WBT, and then the latter term of e-learning (vendors today, use it to refer to content that is online), there was CBT. CBT was the “new” and exciting way to learn. If you wanted micro-learning, you could do it. WBT (Web-Based Training).

Some vendors who have failed to deliver, in my opinion, a user friendly system, due to front end or back end (admin side), or sometimes both. Plateau Talent Management System. Rapid e-learning tools, or as I prefer to call them – rapid content authoring tools (course builders, even sims) exploded onto the scene.

Callidus Software acquired Rapid Intake, a great content authoring solution. Plateau is now called SuccessFactors. At this time, Operital is staying as is – i.e. name. Rapid Intake will stay as is – name, feature wise, etc. Learn.com is now called Taleo. GeoLearning’s Maestro product is now called SumTotal Maestro.
