E-Learning Screen recording and video solutions – Should b simple, so why isn’t it?

There is something wrong when a free and open source product like Audacity can do it, yet a product that costs hundreds of dollars cannot. I’m not overly sold on HD for online tutorials. That it is not a good idea to have multiple programs open while you are saving and publishing your video. Share online recordings.
