Vendors saying “have you looked at XYZ” (which is their system). plus all the vendors will be found in FindAnLMS), I do have systems I can recommend based on various criteria. Yet, as I have often noted, it is rarely pushed upon in an RFP, let alone a demo. And I ask it often when talking to vendors.

eLogic, Growth Engineering, Litmos by SAP, CrossKnowledge Learning Suite, MATRIX, Kokm, Roundtable Learning, SumTotal Learning Management, Cornerstone Learn, GyrusAim Learning Cloud, Tessello, Agylia. Because these breakouts could go longer than an Oscar speech, the majority will be the category followed by the vendor.

Often, these posts have 287 or more responses from LMS vendors, each claiming they offer the best solution, given the overwhelming evidence provided in the original 2-sentence help request. They’ve hit a wall with features that don’t accomplish what a vendor promised. LMS vendors have vastly different licensing models.

A ct 1 - A good LMS is one that costs a lot of money. Because I’m ripping you off, just like those systems that tell you it will cost 750 thousand dollars for 1000 users. Act 2 – Select only a vendor who is well known (name recognized). The first to use SumTotal. Why do you ask? The first to use Articulate.

What about a payment gateway – does the LMS vendor assist you with this or do you have to find your own? Drilling down, will provide you with additional information you need to ask and know, and as a result, even when looking at a potential vendor’s site, you will be able to see what they offer in this area.

LMS vendors are continuing to add some very unique features in an effort to set themselves apart from the competition. This is to say that 90% of features most folks seek are nearly universal in a LMS – low cost or otherwise. Desktop sharing (appears with a few vendors). Guess what some vendors do. Virtual printer.

On each Vendor listing – as you see in the above catalog example, if the vendor is in my Top 50 rankings for 2019, they will have an icon identifying them, Purple – Top 50, Dark Blue – Top 20, Green – Top 10. . In the area of transparency, these are vendors who have purchased additional options.
