Diigo recently released version 3 of their social bookmarking application. Diigo had groups before, but the sharing tools are improved now. Diigo identifies other users who tag the same sites and use the same tags as you, so it’s easier to find people with similar interests.

Social tagging sites such as Diigo and Delicious can offer this kind of filing cabinet organisation, but so too can wikis and other collaborative tools, which would I imagine, raise the level of engagement and profiling of individuals who organised and shared their content in this manner.

You may also have dialogue with your personal learning network as you discuss that content. Diigo is a tool that offers these options. Learning often emerges as a result of the writing, rewriting and editing of this content. You could add notes (annotations) or highlight sections with colour for example.
