In the webinar, I brought up how LMS vendors were themselves perpetuating the myth of the bad things of social media (which is a necessary component of social learning), so, rather than identify the facts and data to potential clients who are concerned about social media and thus social learning, they instead do not include it in their system.

Unfortunately, too many vendors in the e-learning space have failed to see the power and potential of this capability, and have decided to ignore them. Social Media Solutions that have multiple APIs built in their system, basically they are a mashup in a sense. Uses Google Docs. Social Learning?

For the mobile learning space – it is a necessity. No longer are they stuck saying, well it would something like this – and show an image or hard doc, now the end user can experience it. . The “gerbil in the wheel” mentality continues, despite over 30 different types of social media.
