The problem with this trend is that it forces learners to do a checklist each day in the guise of boosting retention. I have those every weekend, so why as an adult learner do I want it as a benefit to learning? Another one on the rise for LMS vendors and honestly, e-learning vendors as a whole.

The problem I have is when there are so many awards it becomes hard to distinguish, which solution is truly award worthy. I have no problem with that. I have seen systems on consumers’ servers have bandwidth problems especially if they do not have load backing. When you need a fix, then the LMS vendor must work with you either remote to solve it or if it is big nasty fix, go on site. Even one time open source systems are starting to offer hosting for an additional cost.

If I am vendor, whose product is paid (i.e. not free, or not 100% open source) and I have to do 100% customization to land a client, I would worry about my cash on hand and debt load.
