An LMS can be as good or as bad as a learning platform, a PXP, LXP, skills-focused, or whatever someone wants to call their learning system. I do not see it for small businesses (999 or less) or customer education. EdCast though still lacks an LRS, for those who are wondering. Missed Opps.

They forget to realize that a learning system, learning platform are just semantics – as noted before. You can have a modern learning system that is really crummy, just as you can have with a LMS. Equally you have can an awesome LMS all modern and feature rich, just as you can with some learning systems.

Target audience focus – Employee-focused is gaining traction – this means the system is heavily tilted or focused on employees only (if you want to use the system for customer education/training, you can – after all you are the client.
