Steve Wexler who runs eLearningGuild research has been producing some really interesting information recently. All of the data comes from surveys to the eLearningGuild membership (which is more than 30,000) and typically they have 2,000 - 3,000 respondents on surveys which is large enough to get pretty good indications.

Hot Topics in Training

Last year, I did Hot Topics in Training - A Crude (but mildly interesting) Analysis where I analyzed the topics at Training 2005 and Training 2006 to determine what topics were emerging and fading. As a speaker and someone expected to have a pulse on what's happening, I thought this was mildly interesting.

Looking Back at 2007

I've basically limited myself to eLearningGuild and ASTD conferences. Discussion will emerge/increase around the next generation of LMS that focus on quick access to content, search, web 2.0 Discussion will emerge/increase that SCORM doesn't fit next generation learning. I'm still unsure how I should spend my time.
