Including high-quality images and videos often adds hugely to audience engagement, but it also adds file size. Adding to your file size means that your presentation is likely to sit on the unfriendly size of email etiquette, but it also means your PowerPoint will run a lot slower (and it may crash – see this article for more on that ).

Effective design using PPT as a tool. Not PPT 101. Many tools out there that still have to start with ppt Use it as a storyboarding tool, prototyping. Can do an awful lot with PPT. Even when you make programs like that mandatory, still only have a 5% completion rate. Why PowerPoint? We have it. It’s cheap.

As long as we’ve been doing this, we still spend an average of five hours editing a new PowerPoint template using only the Draw tools already within the program. PowerPoint-resolution photos can be purchased for $1, and most illustrations (like the one in Tom’s post) for $7. Personally, I like to use photos as well.
