Big KM = enterprise KM, lots of structure. Little KM = processes used by distributed teams. Personal KM = ad hoc, DIY, cheap/free. Social bookmarking sites are less often blocked by corporate firewalls. A PKM Method. Not the only method–not something to force people into, just one way.

So, to get product information, you go to the sales site, er, or is that engineering? We strictly firewall off access to the outside, as we don’t want people getting information that hasn’t been vetted internally. When someone wants to talk expertise directories, or other KM-type activities, we point them to IT.

This site has some incredible visualizations. Because they offer integration with products that may already be behind the firewall - Confluence and XWiki. Nice move - building integration w/ existing enterprise products - especially KM ones. I mean AIR is probably years away from approval. I did want to pass along WorldMapper.
