Don’t double compress videos – use uncompressed or lossless formats when compressing to FLV format. Supported source formats are: asf, avi, dv, mov, mp4, mpg, mpeg, wmv. Encoding videos to FLV. To encode videos into FLV or MP4, the encoder software uses following codecs - H.264, Video delivery options.

The new version (IE 9) which is expected to be released sometime in 2011will support HTML5. Audio/Video Support – HTML5 has added new video and audio tags that can play video/audio in a browser without a plugin but it doesn’t officially support any video or audio format. Check out this website that can test HTML5 support in a browser.

I have tried multiple file types (mp4 and flv), both input variations (event and synchronized) and multiple flash output versions (10.x The publish format HAS to be swf, as the intranet i’m uploading to has permission issues with some files associated with HTML publishing. x), all to no avail.

KeepVid offered both (save as FLV and save as MP4) and a nice bookmarklet as well. To get it in Flash Video Format / FLV - you can use the little tool provided by TechCrunch.
