You might have chat rooms (my system, the one I initially built, and then the one I purchased – GeoLearning), forums, discussion boards, a library (mine did, including checkout capabilities), even classrooms (the appearance of them, I never used it). Still in existence Saba – Today? Sure folks.

The sixth LMS in the LMSs that kick ass Friday series is Saba. Saba’s primary market is corporate learning with just more than half of all implementations installed behind-the-firewall (largest implementation 2,000,000 learners). Saba is a major player among corporate LMSs -you can say it’s a benchmark system.

Four years ago, very few consultants had sufficient knowledge or desire to match potential buyers with specialized “ extended enterprise learning ” systems. Other well-known independent players like Cornerstone , Saba and Workday opted to compete by building their own talent suites. LMS Demand: New Waves of Unexpected Interest.

Most of the time (as is the case with Oracle) these are different products. I know the folks from CornerStone and their product does some really interesting things. As these systems catch up, this will make the market really hard for Saba and SumTotal. However, when you get low counts, the numbers are highly suspect.

Between the two systems, I am leaning more towards LMS365, just because I honestly believe it has a future in the SharePoint space much more so than their other product (nothing against it, but…). This is a tough one, because honestly there are a lot of average learning systems at HR Tech. Cornerstone OnDemand.
