To “crop” an image is to remove or adjust the outside edges of an image (typically a photo) to improve framing or composition , draw a viewer’s eye to the image subject, or change the size or aspect ratio. In fact, it’s kind of a rule of photography that your main subject shouldn’t be in the center. The first step is cropping.

Changing slide size: Google Slides defaults to the standard widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio. The standard 16:9 aspect ratio is widely used because it fits perfectly on most widescreen screens and projectors. If you want to resize your object without it being warped or stretched, check the Lock aspect ratios box.

There’s a bunch of grid layouts for adding photography, but you can’t overlay a grid on the slide. The real issue with grouping animation options and other effects together is that you can’t apply multiple Fx options to the same object. You can record narration, change the screen ratio, add videos, images, and audio.
