What didn’t surprise me though, once it started to catch everyone’s attention, was that vendors in the learning system and learning tech space, would grab hold of it. From a technology standpoint, it is a bit more clearer, but nowadays when a vendor says “Enterprise” they are not thinking from the technology standpoint. And again, the learning system vendor or e-learning provider? Enterprise does make a big difference in the learning system industry, depending on the vendor.

These two vendors are EdCast and Degreed. Getting back to being unaware, I find the same issue with a few vendors in the learning system space who are really LXPs, but have no idea. It reminded me of the vendors in the space who scream they are not an LMS, even though they hit all the standards of an LMS. . In my opinion, no.

The LMS vendor got away with charging an outrageous amount for their system, with a “deal for them” $48 a seat. Again, a “deal” according to the vendor. There are vendors in the industry who are known to undercut or under bid if you will, their competitors to just win the deal. Seems high right?

You have contacted the vendor to inquire about their system. Now some vendors like to mention the big names, after all, it will impress some people. People like people that are similar, which by the way is a propaganda technique (Just like you and me) often used in advertising. Some vendors go this route – I like that.
