As I was walking around the Expo floor yesterday, I was surprised by a LMS vendor that had some “What were they Thinking?&# If you are attending TechKnowledge, you will surely figure out the vendor if you are walking around and talking to vendors. They say they are working on a future upgrade to do this.

Sometimes it is a result of the vendor, other times it is a failure of due diligence on the part of the soon to be customer. The vendor’s salesperson tells you want you want to hear. I expect nothing less from the vendor. Upgrades – free? And yes, there are times it is both parties. Here is why. Nothing more.

The fact that this is one of the general sessions at ASTD TechKnowledge is interesting way to start 2009. Articulate has a great tool set. Lectora is great at packaging.

The fact that this is one of the general sessions at ASTD TechKnowledge is interesting way to start 2009. Kevin Oakes sounded the bell in Kevin Oakes on the Rise and Fall of the LMS as large LMS vendors began to move towards Talent Management. I'm not sure I buy what some of the other LMS vendors are providing around social software.
