Next week, 12-12-12, will be #10 to #1 learning management systems for 2012. While their UI is very user friendly, they really haven’t done much in terms of new cool features in 2012.

When your LMS BFF is no longer

We all do it, I mean that is a huge initial step in designing effective training. Because the company was using Windows 2000 (in 2012 no less) and the LMS vendor did not support Windows 2000. Did the insurance company’s lead tell the vendor what they were using? Did the vendor ask? So who’s at fault?

Review of ASTD International Trade Expo

E-Learning has been minimal. However, this clearly had changed in 2012. I would estimate that there was a 60-40 split, still instructor led driven, but even a significant number of the ILT vendors were offering subsets or capabilities to turn their ILT into online via webinars or online courses. Product Review: BlueVolt

Mobile Learning – yes you can view it on tablets and smartphones. As noted in Summer 2012, will enable online/offline synch with native iOS app – the next evolution of SCORM. Social Learning – No. Additional Specs. Built in Content Authoring Tool – No. IMO, not a big deal. Anyway, its just a thought.
