Here is how these new rankings will work throughout 2013: Debut this month, update in July, final top 25 in Dec. Vendors can move up, down or out of the rankings – after all it is on-going. This solution reminds me of Articulate Studio in terms of its capabilities, but at a lower cost. Therefore, new rankings are in order.

Equation tool – I’ve seen more vendors add this thing – and unless you are in education I can’t see why you would use it. Text to speech – Very nice – everyone should offer this feature. 2 Articulate Storyline. Screen capture and recording. Learning notes – nice. E-Learning 24/7.

Because the industry as a whole is a lemming, I expect more vendors to come on board. In just the past month, I have seen quite a few vendors add this capability in their product – and for the most part they are all RCAT products. Well some vendors have more than 15 come with their product. HTML5 output. Not anymore.

I am still surprised on how vendors who are offering assessment only tools are staying in the game. Some vendors push heavily on PPT, implying that a great WBT is really a PPT converted to Flash. One vendor focuses only on Blackberry (not just Playbook but their smartphone like product). Vendor adoption is slow.
