If you are not familiar, I/ITSEC stands for Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation, and Education Conference and caters largely to the US Department of Defense, federal contractors, and vendors offering solutions to the aforementioned. Imagine a massive room full of the latest and greatest in simulation-based training.

Billed as the world’s largest modeling, simulation and training event, we always enjoy attending this massive event filled with everything from fog machines to full aviation simulations. This conference, we have our eye on a few sessions centered around interoperability, learning ecosystems and the Total Learning Architecture (TLA).

Held annually and organized by the NTSA, I/ITSEC 2023 showcases simulation, education, modeling and training technology for the exchange of information. It’s a massive event with everything from learning standards professionals to creators of large flight simulators all under one (gigantic) convention roof.

I recently attended the MedBiquitous Conference at Johns Hopkins. This conference focuses on technology standards in health care education (conference hash tag - #Medbiq2013 ). I also learned Tin Can API is also being called ExperienceAPI, but it depends on who you talk to, ADL or Rustici. Hope to see you there next year!

The conference is held each year on the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine campus in Baltimore. I’m referencing a workshop led by Dr. David Topps and Ellen Meiselman from last year’s conference.) Some conferences we go to are more about purchasers finding vendors, and that’s an important part of how projects get done.
