Articulate has told me that they have an issue with Windows 8 for both Storyline and Studio, but are working on fixing it. Desktop authoring tool vendors who realized this thing was fast approaching are: Articulate. Articulate Storyline, Articulate Studio 13 when launched will be able to do so too. dominKnow Claro.

This solution reminds me of Articulate Studio in terms of its capabilities, but at a lower cost. The new iSpring Pro 7 – currently in beta adds additional powerhouse features, including PPT to HTML5 output (which right now is a standalone product). #8 Yeah it is another PPT spin product but does stand out. #5 Bottom Line.

Learning Management Systems. Mobile learning platforms. Social learning platforms. Do I need an authoring tool if I have a LMS? If you want to track in a learning management system or learning platform that supports SCORM then you want it. Yeah, you can upload word docs, PPT, etc.

No wonder, the vendors never saw them. Again, what is the point of the map, if you still can’t find the vendors. Surprised at the low number of LMS vendors here. I tell my vendor clients – this is a must show to attend, compared to some others out there. No geolocation for people’s iphones.

LMS, web, CD, etc., A product that has multiple uses, which can be either a standalone into your LMS as a course, or used as a Podcast Or. iPod, mobile phones, YouTube, message boards, e-mail. PowerPoint – Ability to integrate or use PPT in your courses. Some vendors push heavily on PPT, implying that a great WBT is really a PPT converted to Flash. The latter is slowly gaining speed, which is an advantage to LMS vendors who have a CAT in their own product – which is SCORM,PENS/IMS compliant.

An alarming rate of “get the content up now, ASAP&# regardless of what it looks like, instructional design is typically tossed out the window, especially when the ID, CD or whomever is tasked to create is handed a stream of documents in Word or PPT or some other form.
