The LMS/LCMS/Learning Portal market continues to be strong. In my latest directory, 393 LMS vendors – global, of which 34 or so are open source systems. Folding up shop and switching to a new market: Talent/Performance Management, new product lines not tied to e-learning, services. It was a myth.

I include Learning Portals, LCMSs, as part of the mix. You can also sell your Jackdraw courses in the e-comm marketplace. Assessment tools, audit trails, communication, learner and admin functionality exists in this system. When a vendor I am reviewing or identifying is a client of mine, it will always be noted, as such.

Quiz assessment tools and systems, that assume everyone wants to do T/F and M/C or Short Answer and T/F only. I have seen over 150 systems, 80 plus authoring tools, dozens of web conferencing products, mobile learning, quiz assessment tools, CMSs and learning portals, and not everyone of them meets those two statements.
