Mobile Learning. LMSs – Finally vendors took notice. Sadly though many still are in the dark on true mobile learning – i.e. not accessing their platform via a mobile web browser. Authoring Tools – With only a small sample of vendors that are SaaS based, pickings are slim. Increase in number of vendors.

Authoring Tool Market – What I am seeing

eLearning 24-7

Because the industry as a whole is a lemming, I expect more vendors to come on board. In just the past month, I have seen quite a few vendors add this capability in their product – and for the most part they are all RCAT products. Audacity which is free – destroys it. This feature is showing up all over the place.

Articulate, Captivate and Lectora – Do they deserve your praise?

Their video encode program is lackluster, you are better off using Audacity – which is free. Screen capture – more and more vendors are adding it. Scenario branching – this should be a standard in every product, and thankfully it is becoming more so. Granted the changes are limited but at least it is something.

Product Review: Articulate Storyline

After recording your voice or whatever it appears as one wavelength, which is standard for any recording – and not the problem I have with the product. If you prefer to have multiple layers of recordings for one record, I strongly recommend using Audacity (which is free), then save and export the recording to Storyline.
