Depending on the source, stock music can be expensive and in a climate in which it’s hard to get any purchases approved, it may be viewed as frivolous. Here are my top tips for finding and working with stock music. Sound effects bear a mention here, as well… Need I say more than “Remember the early days of PowerPoint”?

Sometimes we need background music or sound effects. If you have some money you can always buy background music and sound effects on CD.

Continuing on the theme of saving eLearning designers time and money , the Gomo team has been sifting through the internet’s many libraries of free and open-source images, videos, sound files, fonts, templates, and software. A relatively small library of 300,000 stock images that’s a bit more hit and miss in terms of quality.

Online video course sites like Udemy, Lynda.com, and Skillshare are growing to tens of millions of students. Even a middle of the road mic (like the one connected to your headphones) will provide much better sound quality than the one built into your computer. You can also share directly to your favorite social media site.
