83% said Output to HTML5. 52% said Audio editor. The days of just PowerPoint to Flash and simplicity are no longer cutting it. I also found the HTML5 numbers to fully back what I have been saying for the past year. 95% – Output to HTML5. 90% – Audio editor. 83% said Layers, Actions and Triggers.

HTML5 output. Right now I am doing a survey on authoring tools (more on this at the end of the post) and so far 100% of all respondents state that HTML5 output is required in an authoring tool. Some vendors push heavily on PPT, implying that a great WBT is really a PPT converted to Flash. Flash output – still red hot. Listen, Authorware is dead, so why create a product that is trying to bring it back to life with your own product? Flash isn’t going anywhere, except maybe the route of leaded gasoline.
