Audio Recording and Editing. The ability to record audio in real time or post time makes a lot of sense and eliminates the need for using Audacity (albeit it is a wonderful and free product). However, just placing the ability to record audio pre or post is not enough. Editing Audio. Flash vs. HTML5.

I call it ELGC (E-learning game changer). HTML5 – Game Changer. Without boring you to death on the details of HTML5, what I will say is this will be a game changer in our industry for a number of reasons. and YouTube (beta) are already offering videos in HTML5 players. Not buggy – Flash is buggy.

My personal favorite feature is the timeline with individual tracks for audio, images and text. Studio has always been known for the PowerPoint to Flash approach, but it also includes audio narration, TOC (yeah!) and customized player. 1st vendor to have online/offline mobile synch. Oh, HTML5 output too.

I believe that you can expect some type of voice capability with the actors/avatars as in the ability to either lip synch with the characters via audio tool/recording tool in the product will show up more in 2013. One vendor already offers it in 2012, and knowing this industry – if something takes off and works, others will follow.

Interestingly, a large portion of LMS vendors have not optimized their products for the iPad/ iPad2 and with the exception of two content authoring tools, HTML5 capabilities, specifically the ability to output a course in HTML5 does not yet exist. Look at the numbers of WOW (World of Warcraft) players. I know I would.
