PowerPoint is not E-Learning and shouldn’t be used as your course tool/development – For whatever reason, there are people who have been around online learning for years, who still see PPT as a means for the creation of content – i.e. courses. PPT is boring. No need, PPT is here! No way around it.

PowerPoint – The King of eLearning Tools?

Most of the new authoring tools either use PPT as their backbone or offer the ability to import slides. Interface creation, navigation buttons, LMS tracking, and testing abilities are then typically added to the PPT functionality. Using these new tools meant that I had to start using PPT. Everyone has PPT.

Product Review – Articulate Storyline 2

Transitions, Animations, Views – I am fine using it once, but again, new product-new version, so why I am still seeing PowerPoint within this product to such a point, that TAV are exactly the same as in PPT? Joking aside much of the ribbon, maybe all, I wasn’t doing a cross comparison with PPT, seemed to remind me of PPT.

Preference of E-Learning – Structured or not?

People readily assume that a trend must be interpreted as a positive or that the person presenting what will become a trend as the gatekeeper to that trend, and thus, either the person who created whatever that trend is, or must have some level of scientific data to support it. How to select the right authoring tool

In the authoring tool world: PowerPoint focused authoring tool, Basically you know PPT, love it and want the ability to build within it and then convert your PPT to a Course. In the housing world that would be whether you want a townhouse, apt., condo, house, etc. They are out there, I wouldn’t use one, but they do exist.

Adobe shows off Captivate 4 and the Adobe eLearning Suite

He demonstrated adding a login screen to a Captivate project, saving the user name in a custom variable, and then reusing the variable later in the project to personalize the user experience. Alternatively PowerPoint files can be linked, so that edits to the source PPT file are reflected in the Captivate project.
