Virtual classrooms and smart-boards are used in a more student-centered way (not putting all the attention to one person up-front=bad). Twitter, Yammer), wikis, blogs, discussion groups, etc. One thing that I've not heard discussed as much is the voice recognition and text-to-speech of the application.
