What I like about this product includes the ability to output to HTML5, works on mobile devices, is extremely easy to use, appears within PowerPoint and SCORM. What has stopped the product in the past from being in the top 20 was a lack of clarity in terms of what they were trying to accomplish – at least that was my take.

best products that work under water (summer time) and from the e-learning prospective – the best authoring tools. 10: TechSmith Camtasia Studio – I’ve debated numerous times if a product that is more of a screen recorder with added feature sets deserves to be in an authoring tool set. Everyone loves lists.

That said, interest in the various products and sessions and “morning buzz” gatherings that related to mobile all seemed well attended and topical. Of the 45+ vendors exhibiting at LS2011, about a dozen had some form of mobile messaging clearly on display and there were certainly a few standouts as follows: Claro from dominKnow.

Well, it is a fun product to create a course. This product achieves makes it happen, especially with a slick UI. Nothing like getting your blood boil when you see this ranking and can’t understand why the product is not number one. HTML5 output including a PPT converter to HTML5. Why you may ask? Searchable content.

Use of PowerPoint in rapid content authoring tools – this has been a big irritant of mine, since the days when PPT first made its appearance in rapid content authoring tools. Some vendors use chapter-page approach with PPT, but there are plenty who do not (why?). Even with just content only – like PPT or video files.

If I am an authoring tool vendor, I would explore what is happening in the authoring tool market, what my product looks like, how I can make it better for my target audience and what do I see or others I trust see the e-learning space is heading. . is overwhelming, unless they have used a product in the past like Photoshop that uses layers.
