I primarily design self-paced eLearning programs. What kinds of programs do you design? Im guessing youre designing online distance learning courses. Classes for college credit that are taught online. Im in the weird place of for-profit education, which really has characteristics of both market sectors.

Chris suggests that a reasonable alternative to the “At the end of this class you will be able to&# list is a series of questions. Atleast in India, I guess most of us strictly follow Blooms Taxonomy and frame learning objectives. Im not sure I suggested writing WIIFM learning objectives, but they probably have their uses.

Brent Schlenker of the eLearning Guild, commented on my post Memoirs of an Instructional Designer : Im one of the unfortunate ones with a actual honest to goodness Masters Degree in EdTech. He goes on to say that current ISD programs are more like history programs. The program I went to at Pepperdine was outstanding.
