It was designed to be a small to medium size group discussion, but because the room was large it was very challenging to do that successfully. I discussed a bit of these issues in First Thoughts After ASTD Sessions. Provide thoughts around the content and the discussion. However, the discussion quickly lost steam.

A discussion forum functionality is key for this purpose, other things are nice to have but often blur the decision about the forum to choose. Opening a group on an existing social network sites such as Facebook or LinkedIn. Most major social network sites such as MySpace and LinkedIn have the opportunity to start your own group.
