It relates to my post about eLearning Costs , which bases cost estimates on seat time of the eLearning course. In Costs , Donald Clark talks about seat time during conversion: Seat time is the time spent by the learner in a learning environment. Brandon Hall reports it is a 2:1 ratio. Will these need to be converted?

So, as eLearning providers, it’s high time that we have the courage of our convictions, and take a stand to say: “This may be flashy, but retention will be down, time lost to training will go up, and overall costs (especially long term maintenance) will be far higher.” Jim: Glad you found the post helpful, Jeff! What is new, however, is the ratio of on-demand solutions to more traditional training offerings. Special shared kiosks are a possible solution to this problem, but they may be cost prohibitive.
