If the buy content you get Skillsoft system sounds familiar you are correct, because the same approach was taken with Skillport, an LMS from Skillsoft, which was really a stripped down version of the old Element K system back in the day. Skillsoft Content Customers who want to switch to another 3rd party content/course provider.

Most importantly, it does not require familiarization with a new set of tools as users would already be accessing SkillSoft in the course of their daily work On the downside, inGenius is very SkillSoft centric and will not give a true sense of collaboration and networking. But, it indeed is a good start.

Skillsoft at this present time, does not sell Skillport as a separate LMS. . Rather, they have told me, they will toss it in (my words, not theirs) to customers who purchase courses (they did not say whether there was a min. I mean would you want to buy courses from someone who is now a competitor of yours? But that is just me.

LMSs (Saba, SumTotal, SkillPort, etc.) This includes skill/competency management, the management of all sorts of learning resources (including online, classroom and blended courses), the management of personal development plans, learning content management, reporting, and so on. SkillPort scores very high as well on satisfaction. Of course, if you are consciously choosing something as a starter LMS, make sure that everyone knows that its a starter and that you plan to move in a few years. The first way, you buy the courses and the LMS is included (so content priority, system is tossed in). . There are few and I mean only a few who follow this pattern (example: Skillsoft), where the course library is the primary and the system secondary. Usually when this occurs you get a crummy LMS, since the courses reign supreme.
