Web conferencing services like DimDim now offer the equivalent of WebEx. Because it’s open source, there are no licensing costs. There’s no vendor who creates Moodle per say. Why do companies continue to pay huge dollars for products that are now being offered for free? Here are just a few: It’s free. Sure they can.

I have a real issue with vendors who charge extra – via a license with their “partner&# or otherwise for a web conferencing – and thus ability to offer webinars, in their solution. DimDim - up to 5 participants, other options available but are fee based. It should be free – 100%. Meetings24.tv

Web conferencing services like DimDim now offer the equivalent of WebEx. Because it’s open source, there are no licensing costs. There’s no vendor who creates Moodle per say. Does this mean LMS's cut their prices when a license is renewed? At least you have a choice of vendors to do the work.
