A few vendors say “social learning” but it is often far from it. Social tags, RSS, gaming activities. Studio has always been known for the PowerPoint to Flash approach, but it also includes audio narration, TOC (yeah!) 1st vendor to have online/offline mobile synch. Oh, HTML5 output too.

Social Learning. Oh, excuse me – social networking to most of the vendors who spin it under the guise of social learning. I won’t constantly bore you on their Facebook, Twitter like components, nor discussion board or text chat, but seriously.who thinks this is engaging and interactive? What about Twitter?

Many e-learning vendors put $$$ ahead of their customers. Thus, it is wonderful to see vendors who have stepped forward and said, “we care&# , “we value you&# , by offering giveaways during this holiday season. What I said, was some LMS vendors are like mice on a wheel going round and round, stuck in a rut.

Another small trend is providing advanced admin capabilities in the form of admins who have CSS, Flash,PHP or other languages. Linkedin tied into Twitter is an example of APIs. The use of geolocation – available in HTML5. Mobile Learning. What if your LMS/LCMS is using extensively or some component of Flash?

Vendors were saying, lets “wait on those&# or “our customers are not requesting them, so we are holding off&#. Social learning? If they were doing it, Facebook like page, a crummy blog that looks nothing like a real blog, a Twitter like feed, maybe RSS, text chat and YouTube functions and upload/download angle.
