What is an equal frightening event is when authoring tool vendors do not even list their pricing on their page. Fear of the Mobile Bogeyman aka HTML5. one vendor debuts PowerPoint the entire market adds PowerPoint. One vendor adds Avatars, the whole market runs to add avatars. HTML5 is not going anywhere.

Interestingly, a large portion of LMS vendors have not optimized their products for the iPad/ iPad2 and with the exception of two content authoring tools, HTML5 capabilities, specifically the ability to output a course in HTML5 does not yet exist. 62% Voice enabled. I know I would. 35% Touch free gesturing.

I believe that you can expect some type of voice capability with the actors/avatars as in the ability to either lip synch with the characters via audio tool/recording tool in the product will show up more in 2013. One vendor already offers it in 2012, and knowing this industry – if something takes off and works, others will follow.

One of the first tools that enabled lip synching (your voice or whomever with the avatar/actor). Studio has always been known for the PowerPoint to Flash approach, but it also includes audio narration, TOC (yeah!) Well besides my rankings of course, think about this: 1st vendor to offer collaboration and peer review.

Because the industry as a whole is a lemming, I expect more vendors to come on board. HTML5 output. Right now I am doing a survey on authoring tools (more on this at the end of the post) and so far 100% of all respondents state that HTML5 output is required in an authoring tool. HTML5 templates.
