This year, I estimated a 55/60% e-learning, including some ILT vendors offering some type of e-learning component. . In all the years I have attended and have known about ATD (formally ASTD), this year is by far the most in terms of e-learning vendors, especially those in the LMS space.

TinCan support with mobile learning, however no on/off synch. Mobile learning support, but no TinCan nor on/off synch. If this is something you are looking for – i.e. a HCM, then they are the ones to go with – over Cornerstone, Oracle-Taleo, SumTotal and alike. Around $8,500 USD for 2,000 users.

What is of note, is that this is not new in terms of systems being offered “in the cloud” This was happening back when e-learning began, with quite a few systems in the cloud by 2002. Systems that are only available as hosted on your own servers are starting to significantly decline. Prediction. I love this!

SaaS – the norm, what no longer is the norm – hosted on the client’s servers only. Here mobile, mobile, mobile. 18% support mobile learning in some fashion either via smartphones, tablets – the majority support only smartphones. More expensive means better features.
