Q : I am curious on why Cornerstone On Demand, Saba and SumTotal do not appear in your top twenty lists even though they appear on other sites as the best products in the market. Saba - A solid system, but IMO (in my opinion) better suited for talent/performance management. So, back for another installment.

I was surprised though that mobile from an e-learning standpoint did not crush. Learning Management Systems – I expect to see more next year, but this year was solid. If a vendor didn’t visibly list it, then upon asking, many said they were going to include it. E-Learning 24/7.

SumTotal is calling their product a Human Capital Management system. Sure, they offer a separate LMS called SumTotal Maestro, but their TM has surprisingly (not really) been morphed into a HCM, will others follow? I must have been sleeping, but when did “learning” slide under Talent Management?

If you are someone who is considering some of the bigger dogs like Cornerstone or SumTotal, I would seriously look at these guys. eLogic Learning ($$-$$$) – Another solid performer who continues to get better and better. Some systems say yes but really do not want to do it – and it is quickly recognized. Tin Can API.

Compliance management, certification management. surveys/assessments, e-commerce, transcripts, ad-hoc reporting and the other standards in the industry (90/10). Their product is more geared towards a human capital management system, especially with the BizX Suite. A fine system with strong features.

Event management inc. Branding – the only difference is some vendors still charge for this – my question: why? HRIS integration – At one time systems said ERP integration with SAP, Oracle, Peoplesoft for example, now the new buzz: HRIS integration – Lawson. More expensive means better features.
