I’ll be the first to admit, that I was not a big fan of the previous versions of the Plateau system. After viewing the Plateau TMS, my concerns in one area have been eliminated, in others, not so much. Plateau LMS is a Talent Management System, made up of four modules. Plateau Learning. Plateau Performance.

The market continues to grow it is nearly impossible to see every vendor’s latest solution. Additionally, vendors can cease to exist quickly. Many vendors state “LMS&# , even though it comes with a content authoring tool and additional features – this is a trend. Vendors Reviewed. E-Learning 24/7.

CBT Prior to online learning known then as WBT, and then the latter term of e-learning (vendors today, use it to refer to content that is online), there was CBT. CBT was the “new” and exciting way to learn. Netscape showed up, and dominated the market. Who led the market? Sure folks.

Oracle then followed suit by acquiring SuccessFactors who had acquired Plateau in the past. I’m sure the people who had purchased Plateau or even SuccessFactors Learning system were delighted to hear the news. It can easily change the world of e-learning upside down. What about Kenexa? They are a HCM.

A couple of vendors have added HRIS modules. It is interesting to note, that many of the vendors are targeting the SMB space, especially the small size (less than 500 employees) market. I expect to see over 80% of the market go SaaS by the end of 2012. What’s not to love about the EE market? Prediction.
