PowerPoint still reigns – If you are a course purist, the idea that PPT should be seen as an authoring tool should make you grumble with disgust. . Yes, you can use it for many different things, and yes, Microsoft has an add-on that turns PPT into something similar to Adobe Presenter. PowerPoint is presentation software.

Uses a PowerPoint like layout, albeit it shows a hierarchy approach which many people will like – so if you think this is nothing more than PPT in appearance – trust me it is not. Features I like include (beyond just the ones mentioned): Create games – way better than some of the “game like” things I see.

Because it is Adobe – the same folks who came up with Photoshop a long time ago, who brought us Premiere – a long time ago and who bought Macromedia – again, a long time ago. HTML5 output including a PPT converter to HTML5. Why say that? Themes, interactions. Collaboration. Screen capture and recording.

Adobe Photoshop Express – in the cloud and very popular. Remember when only a few offered the PPT to Flash option in their tools? Gaming features and sims. Gaming and sims are intertwined. At the end of the day, to have a great gaming course, you need to have a strong sim. Microsoft Live – same thing.
