Screencasting can be a little bit daunting when faced with all the "techie" jargon like aspect ratios, codecs and frame rates. It's always good practice to try and record, edit and produce at the same dimensions i.e. make sure your clips and images (perhaps png files) are all the same size.

Understanding the Image Blocks in Rise. Rise offers a number of blocks that support inserted images (such as image, gallery, and some of the interactions). Most them work perfectly in one of two aspect ratios: 1:1 (square). There are a few blocks that have text overlay where the image is scaled. 16:9 (rectangle).

And any time you scale a screencast down you’ll run into some image degradation. Create an image file that represents the screen resolution you need. When you want to record a quick screencast or share an application, set the image as your desktop image. I also want the window to be 4:3 aspect ratio.
