Im not sure I buy how much real impact any of this will have on bottom line measures. I like what Kevin Jones talked about in Objection #13: How Do You Measure ROI? Rachel Happe suggested some measurements of ROI. Out of both of these comments - Im coming to realize that we have to shift our mindset about measurement.

I've not really seen good examples of business cases (future ROI) for using these tools. So, yes, you have to set up policies and alert people just like you do around any form of electronic communication (email, IM). Time frame / Goal - Starting with a fixed time frame and a particular goal often gets better initial activity.
